Mainstream Monday: Sniffing Popular Perfumes Years ago Kat Von D had launched perfumes. They were discontinued. I remember them very vaguely but not enough to do a comparison between those and the new 2017 edition. One thing that I can certainly say is that the new 2017 bottles are gorgeous. They’re an improvement! Saint… Read More Kat Von D Saint & Sinner Perfume Reviews (2017)

Healthy Options is a haven for natural, organic, and cruelty-free products. Especially when you go to their bigger stores like the one in EDSA Shangri-la, from edibles to cosmetics. You’ll find what you’re looking for here. What if you’re not looking for anything? What if you’re just curious on what Healthy Options has to offer? I have my staple favorites in their store but I decided to ask my friends what are their favorites. So I’m sharing it here on the blog for everyone to enjoy! ^_^ 9 Things You Can Buy in Healthy Options 1. SOLGAR Omega 3 I used to buy cenovis fish oil but when it got discontinued I found the perfect replacement in healthy options. The one solgar produces does not have any fishy scent or flavor. It smells like lemons and it works. 2. SOLGAR Cal-Mag-Zinc I’m not sure if you’re aware but I’m suffering from rheaumatoid arthritis and tourretes syndrome. My doctors recommended me to supplement myself with magnesium to relax my nerves and muscles. Calcium to prevent bone degredation, and zinc to strengthen my immunity. 3. Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner Witch hazel toners are the best! The one from Thayer’s is alcohol-free and smells like roses. […]

@cosme is Japan's largest beauty and cosmetics portal site. This rich moisturizing face wash removes impurities, one of the causes of skin irritation, without putting stress on the skin. Uses SPT (skin purifying technology) that targets impurities and lifts them from the skin. Its foam is so smooth that it feels like your skin is absorbing it, so it leaves your skin moisturized and plump after each wash. Has a faint, elegant sweet floral scent. 130g.

This weekend, I’m planing to stalk drugstores for Garnier Skin Skinactive Soothing 3-in-1 Face Moisturizer, go apple and pumpkin picking, and play stupid amounts of Darkestville Castle. But first about that Garnier Moisturizer. Garnier’s latest skincare launches are looking mighty interesting as you may already know from my past posts about the new cleansers and […]

Over the past few months I've started the process of going more natural with skin care.
I made the decision to try this due to several factors. For one, many of the heavily scented products have been making me ITCH LIKE CRAZY. My neck, chest, and arms would be covered in red welts from itching after I applied my body lotion. Not all scented products were making me itch, but enough that I started to get concerned.
I've also started to do some research about the many chemicals that are in some beauty products that has absolutely floored me. For one, when I started to itch I bought a "hypoallergenic" unscented body lotion. I was shocked to find that this word means absolutely NOTHING. NADA. A brand can use this term in any way that they want to because there are no federal guidelines that govern it's use. So that unscented/fragrance free body lotion isn't any better than the scented one because it will usually have a masking agent that masks the nasty scent of the other chemicals in it. I don't know about you, but that kinda freaks me out a little bit.
And finally: cost. I've been looking into the cost of natural and/or organic products and surprisingly there are a lot of products that are fairly inexpensive. I know almost everyone thinks that natural and organic (there is a BIG difference!!!) products are super expensive (and they can be), but that's not necessarily the case. I've found a lot of different brands that offer high quality luxury makeup and body care products that are either priced the same as their counterparts or even cheaper.
So this post wasn't meant to scare you away. Honestly, I'm only in the early early stages of this process. I still have a lot of non natural/organic products that I will want to finish up. To be perfectly honest, I know right now that there are some products that I will not do without and will continue to buy even though they are not natural or organic. They just do the job for me. On the other hand, there are tons of products that I can easily replace with better, more natural alternatives that work just as well. That's where my focus is right now. I'm not going super super super green, I'm just becoming a little bit more conscious about what I purchase and put on my body now. I will be sharing some of my experiences and opinions coming soon.
In the mean time, please don't let this post scare you! As always I still love makeup and beauty and all things pretty :) If you have any requests please feel free to leave them in comments.

As a teenager, I had extremely oily skin. I swear, I could have given all the oil wells in the Middle East a run for their money for all the excess sebum my skin would produce! In my 20’s, my skin started to normalize: no longer quite as oily but more of a combination type. When I recently hit my late 20’s though, I noticed that my skin would be itchy, red, and peeling all the time. I would apply moisturizer on the dry spots, but would have to deal with them again the following day. This left me feeling very confused. I had a nightly skincare routine but why was I still having so many problems with my skin? After doing a lot of research, I discovered that my symptoms were signs of my ceramide level slowly dropping.

Admit it: wearing sunscreen often feels like a chore. You know why you have to wear it on your face as well as all over your body everyday but - and here comes the drop - most days it's a hassle. The greasiness of the average drugstore high-SPF sunscreen is too much to deal with plus re-appl
